The Land Services Week was inaugurated at Raozan Upazila premises arranged by Raozan Land Office through releasing balloons and pigeons on Tuesday.
Upazila Chairman Ehsanul Haider Chowdhury Babul graced the inaugural session as chief guest duly presided by UNO Shamim Hossain Reza.
On inaugural session of the week on Tuesday, a discussion meeting was arranged at Upazila Conference Hall duly presided by UNO. The Chief Guest in his brief deliberations emphasised the need of bringing dynamism in land sector across the country as pledged by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina . Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Junaid Kabir Sohag conducted the discussion meeting as moderator.
The chair of the meeting Md Shamim Hossain Reza apprised that during last one about 6000 residents were give services relates to land disputes and land tax about Tk1cr was realized from the land owners during last one year.
The Moderator of the meeting , AC (Land) Junaid Kabir told that the target of land revenue collection in current fiscal estimated Tk1.20 crores. He also told that during his tenure in Raozan upazila, Mobile team of Raozan Upazila admin headed by UNO Md Shamim Reza recovered 100 acres of land from illegal occupants.
He also said khas land so recovered from unauthorized occupants leased out to government and landless residents and farmers . Till today 370 lease deed signed in last one , he added. Among others, Panel Mayor Jamiruddin Parvez , Sadar Tahsil Officer Md Jahir, journalists Md. Shafi, Pradip Shil, Sarwaruddin also spoke in it.
Speakers in the discussion, blamed the previous regime of Land Commissioner office for unfair means and irregularities in land disputes and mutation cases of land. Panel Mayor Jamiruddin Parvez was accorded with honourary crest being selected as best land tax payer of the Upazila. The heads of six Tahsil Offices of Raozan were also honoured with crest at end of the discussion meet.
