Land officer Mominur gets ‘National ICT Award-2020’

Dhaka National Zonal Settlement Officer Mominur Rashid received the ‘National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Award-2020’ on Friday evening.
He was awarded in the category of ‘e-Governance (special contribution to civil service)’ for completing land survey through online land survey software, said a press release.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak presented the medals and certificates to the winners at the closing ceremony of a fair on December 11.
On June 16, 2020, the Ministry of Lands of the government of Bangladesh received the prestigious United Nations Public Service Award-2020 in the category of ‘Development of Transparent and Accountable Government Institutions’ in recognition of the implementation of ‘e-Namjari’ initiative.
One of the agencies of the Ministry of Land, the Zonal Settlement Office under the Department of Land Records and Survey, manages and conducts cadastral surveys at the field level.
Online land survey software is one of the overall initiatives of the Ministry of Land to digitize the entire land management.
Receiving the award, Mominur Rashid said that he was inspired by a speech given by Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury at the Settlement Training and took the initiative to develop online survey and settlement automation software.
He thanked Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land Md Makshudur Rahman Patwari and the administrative assistance of the Director General of the Land Records and Survey Department Md Taslimul Islam for encouraging and helping him to develop the software.
Earlier, Mohammad Mominur Rashid won the third prize of the Ministry of Land’s ‘Innovative Award 2019-20’ for ‘Online Land Survey Management’.
