A group of miscreants torched a local land office in Ponabalia union of Sadar upazila early Thursday on the fifth day of the 120-hour countrywide hartal enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance. Police said, a group of miscreants set the land office on fire in the area early in the morning, burning down valuable documents and furniture.Local people doused the blaze.Shil Moni Chakma, officer-in-charge of sadar police station, confirmed the incident.
