Mansur Alam Chowdhury, a resident of Tulatali, Nasirabad under Khulsi thana in Chittagong and owner of Mansur Colony of Tulatali blamed two police officials of Khulsi thana for extending cooperation to Nurul Absar of so-called Absar Bahini for alleged extortions and land grabbing .
The allegations were brought before the press conference held at Chittagong Press Club hall on Sunday by Mansur Alam Chowdhury.
A written statement of the allegations was read out by Mansur Alam himself before the journalists . Among others, Sirajul Alam Chowdhury , President of Garib Manusher Foundation, Shamsul Alam, Secretary of Tamakundi Lane Banik Samity, and Abu Taleb , former Secretary of Banik Samity were present.
The press meet was told that Mansur Alam is the owner of Mansur Colony (former Hashem colony) with total land of 12 and half gonads of land in RS Plot No.321 under Khulsi Mouza in city.
The statement further said land grabber Nurul Absar and his accomplices tried to grab the land owned by Mansur Alam in his absence very recently and physically tortured some colony dwellers as alleged. About 50 persons irrespective of age and sex are residing in the colony and a NGO school is running inside the colony where the urchins are the main target students. Now the colony dwellers are suffering from crisis of water and gas due to disconnection of water, gas line illegally by the Absar Bahini cadres, the press meet was told.
The press meet also told that land grabber Nurul Absar demanded extortion of Tk.5 lakh from his business partner Ismail Hossain. Mansur Alam sought help of Khulsi thana for lodging a extortion case but the Thana authority did not responded to his prayer and finding no alternatives , he filed a CR case before Metropolitan Magistrate court of Chittagong (Case No.74/14) against Nurul Absar and two police officials of Khulsi thana under section 385/34 of Penal code.
Being agitated Nurul Absar lodged a counter police case of extortions before the Khulsi thana on March 29 last (Case No.23/14) against Ismail Hossain Biplob and 4 others. These cases now under trial of CMM Court and DB police , the press meet was told. The plaintiff of the CR case and owner of Mansur Colony urged the higher authority for exemplary punishment of the accused and arrest of Absar Bahini cadres Rashid, Kalam, Faruk and others.
