A young man named Swaid Mia (22) died after being bitten by a poisonous snake while fishing in Nasirnagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria on Saturday.
He is the son of Md. Billal Mia of the new neighborhood of Lakshipur village of Burishwar union of the upazila.
According to family sources, Swaid used to do furniture business in Sylhet. He comes to visit the village house on the occasion of Eid.
He went fishing after dinner in the canal water near the village as a hobby
At 12 midnight, Swaid was bitten by a poisonous snake. At that time, his family and local people came to him
He was taken to Nasirnagar Upazila Health Complex with 50 beds at 1 am. The doctor on duty said that they do not have antivenom or vaccine for snake venom.
Later that night, when Swaid was taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital, he was rushed to Cumilla District Sadar Hospital for vaccine, there he died.
