A road transport worker was killed after another truck dashed him during unloading goods at Fariapatty area of the city on Sunday morning.
The dead victim was identified as Al Amin, 35, a day labour engaged in unloading goods from a truck at Fariapatty wholesale market area of the city.
Asaduzzaman, officer in charge (investigation) of Barishal Kotwali police station, quoting eyewitnesses said Al Amin while unloading goods from a truck at about 7:30 am Sunday, another truck hit from behind of his truck crushing Al Amin under goods. He was rushed to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital and died there after 9:00AM. Then dead body of the victim sent to morgue for autopsy, said Rashedul Islam, ward master of the hospital. Driver of the killer truck managed to flee, but helper detained by local people, police sources said.
