Police arrested four people on allegations of killing a day-labourer at a brick field in Tetulio village of Sadar upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Alomgir Hossain Mia, 25, son of Zamir Hossain hailing from Chaltahat village in Itna Upazila under Kishoreganj district, who was a worker at the Sesars Talukdar Brickfield in the area. Local sources said some co-laborers of the brickfield assaulted Alomgir at one stage of an altercation over stealing a mobile phone around 9am on Monday at the brick field.
leaving him severely injured.
Later, he was taken to Shariatpur Sadar Police Station where Alomgir succumbed to injuries at around 11pm on that day.
Police arrested four people after mother of the deceased filed a case against nine laborers of the brickfield over the death incident said officer-in-charge of Palong Model Police Station Mohammad Humayun Kabir.
