Bumper yield of Boro paddy has been achieved at Fulbari Upazila in Dinajpur district.
The villagers are happy but due to the abnormal price of labourers , their dream is going down.
According to the local labourers, villagers may harvest paddy from 10 to 15 Mounds of rice per spacing.
To be able to harvest rice is to be disturbed by distance from Tk 3,800 to Tk5,200 by the workers in Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Thakurgaon. According to the contract, the workers eat three meals to provide the householder.
According to sources in Upazila Agriculture Department, the target is more than Boro planting of the district. This year, the target of Boro planting was set to land of 14,450 hectares. But it had been planted on land of 14,700 hectares.
More than land of 205 hectares has been grown for the target. The yield is good due to favorable weather.
Some 58,962 metric tons paddy producred so far. There are 13,263 metric tons of hybrid variety and 45,695 metric tons of high yielding variety. However, the yield target was 4.75 metric tons per hectare in hybrid form and 3.92 metric tons of high yielding.
The farmer of Chokiyapara village of the upazila Md. Mohammad Ataur Rahman Sarkar said, all farmers in the area were happy with the production of Boro . But getting the speed from the field to the rice house is now getting faster. Because the daily wage of a worker is Tk650 to Tk750.
 However, in the field of Boro paddy planting , seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, saplings, cleaning of land spending the money Tk900 to Tk1,000 . But in the hats and bazars, 75 kg every sack paddy of rice is sold at Tk 650 to Tk700. The farmers are losing about Tk300 to Tk400 in every pear paddy.
Sadarhat village in Rangpur leader of rice cutter worker Md. Abdul Halim said, a group of 10 workers came to cut rice on 6th May. The difference between the cost of landTk 3,800 to Tk5,200 with food in three o’clock.
Kalkun village of Fulbari upazila the rice-cutting labor leader Phansis Mardi said, They started cutting paddy the beginning of Boro Rice different areas of the upazila. There are 15 working groups. They are not in the daily wage, but in the paddy contract.
