Kyrgyzstan kept their final hope alive as they blanked the Maldives 3-0 in the Bangabandu Senior Men’s Central Zone International Volleyball tournament held on Saturday at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium at Mirpur.
Kaniback of the winning team was named player of the match for his impressive performance. The first set ended at 27-25 points in favour of Kyrgyzstan with both side fought hard for every single point.
In the second set similar rivalry was seen as the Maldives went down fighting 22-25 point. However the third set saw Kyrgyzstan fully dominating the show with the Maldives fading slowly by 25-28 points.
Kyrgyzstan will play their next match against host Bangladesh today (Sunday) at the same venue.
