UNB, Dhaka :
Kuwait has decided to reopen the entry of Bangladeshi workers in February after a seven-year ban on most Bangladeshi workers, said Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait Maj Gen Mohammed Ashhabuddin.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali recently met his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah in Abu Dhabi where they discussed the resumption of bringing in labourers from Bangladesh, The Kuwait Times quoted the Bangladesh envoy as saying.
The total number of the Bangladeshi community in Kuwait is now 190,000, the envoy said adding that they all lead a decent life.
He said farm workers continued to come to Kuwait during the ban as 200-300 Bangladeshis recently entered Kuwait.
