In the last 24 hours, 22 people have died at the COVID unit in Kushtia General Hospital, , which is the highest daily fatalities in the district. Among the deaths, 12 tested positive for Covid-19 and the rest displayed symptoms consistent with the disease.
Kushtia General Hospital’s Superintendent Dr. MA Momen confirmed the information at 9:00 am on Friday.
Of the fresh fatalities, three are in Sadar Upazila, one in Kumarkhali, three in Daulatpur, two in Bheramara and one in Khoksa Upazila.
Meanwhile, some 220 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period. The infection rate is 27.77 percent. Of them, 83 are from Kushtia Sadar upazila, 11 from Mirpur upazila, 26 from Kumerkhali, 59 from Daulatpur, 34 from Bheramara and seven from Khoksa upazila.
