Kushtia District team, Dhaka District team, Jamalpur District team, BJMC won their respective matches on the opening day of the Walton Air Conditioner National (U-19) Youth Female Handball Tournament on Wednesday.
At the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium, Kushtia drubbed Mymensing by 23-4 points while Dhaka outplayed Rangamati by 27-3 goals.
At the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Jamalpur crushed Faridpur by 11-2 goals while BJMC blanked Shariatpur by 32-0 goals.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP inaugurated the handball meet by releasing the balloons as the chief guest at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on the same day while Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Chairperson of Great Actor Manna Foundation Shelly Manna, Secretary of National Sports Council Shivnath Roy were with him as special guests. General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Assaduzzaman Kohinoor, Chairman of the Tournament Committee Kazi Abdul Hakim, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Md Nurul Islam were present at the time.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul presided over the inaugural ceremony.
