KSRM Steel Plant Ltd inaugurated its Sadarghat Lighter Jetty No. 4 leased by KSRM Steel Plant Ltd. The jetty will be officially innagurated on Thursday at 10 am in the presence of senior officials of the Chittagong Port Authority and the lessee organization.
Mizanul Islam, Media Advisor of KSRM confirmed the matter. According to sources, Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, chairman of Chittagong Port Authority, inspected the lighter jetty on July 4 and asked to start it as soon as possible.
The Chittagong Port Authority took the initiative to conduct private operations by constructing 4 lighter jetties to bring momentum in the port activities. In that context, KSRM got the lease of Sadarghat Lighter Jetty No. 4 as the highest bidder.
The other three lighter jetty leaseholders are Ruby Food, BSRM and Abul Khair Steel. The concerned people have taken initiative to launch this jetty in phases in a few days.
