Saudi Arabia will take 3,000 Bangladeshi workers of different professions this year.
Bangladesh Ambassador in Riyadh, Golam Mosi, said it in a press release after a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer Fahad Al Sulaim of Eastern Recruitment, a manpower recruiting agency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was held on Wednesday in Riyadh.
Counselor (labour) of the Bangladesh Embassy M Sarwar Alam, First Secretary (Labour) M Asaduzzaman, Second Secretary (Press) M Fakhrul Islam and Sonali Bank Deputy General Manager M Abdul Wahab were, among others, present at the meeting.
Golam Mosi participated in another meeting with senior officials of different companies in a Dammam hotel on the day. He urged them to recruit more workers from Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi ambassador highlighted honesty, dedication and skills of Bangladesh workers to the prospective employers in both meetings.
The envoy urged them to recruit doctors, engineers, ICT experts and skilled manpower of different professions alongside the general manpower.
Top officials of various Saudi companies, including Al Yamama, Nasser S Al Hajri and Nesma, were present in the meeting.
The ambassador emphasized training of workers in both the meetings and said, we need proper information about work environment, respective job responsibility, salary and other facilities before sending them to Saudi Arabia.
He also assured the representatives of the companies that the government of Bangladesh will provide all kinds of support to the workers for their training.
