Krishi Bank work in Poverty Alleviation

Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) has been working to make Bangladesh self- reliant in food production. BKB disburses lion portion of agricultural loans, said a press release.
Meanwhile it has disbursed amounting to Tk162.52 billion among 3.5 million borrowers. The bank has already disbursed Tk20.57 billion among1.8 million small and marginal farmers along with extremely poor sharecroppers. The bank has disbursed Tk 8.19 crore among 3,362 slum families following the govt. welfare program “Ghare Fera Karmosuchi”.  
The bank serves various programme to reduce poverty alleviation like Boyoshka Vata, Bidhaba Vata and Akhyam Protibandhi Vata where 9.19 lac beneficiaries are involved.
71 lac depositors are receiving banking services through the bank of which 3.5 million are 10- taka account (A/c.) holders.
The bank has collected 1400 million dollar as foreign remittance and distributed properly within shortest possible time. It receives all types of utility bills from customers and playing a vital role in socio-economic development activities.
The bank has been operating offline banking through its largest network of 1,029 branches and presently 52 branches have been operating banking services through online banking.
