A two member delegation of the Mechatronics Engineering Department of Kyungsung University, South Korea paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman at his office on Monday.
The delegation members are Prof Jin-Woo Ahn and Prof Lee Dong Hee, said a DU press release here.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking
collaborative academic and research programmes on Mechatronics Engineering between the University of Dhaka and Kyungsung University, South Korea, the release added.
DU vice-chancellor sought cooperation from Korean professors to develop the DU Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department, a newly established department of the university.
The Korean professors assured the Prof Akhtaruzzaman of providing all possible assistances and supports in this regard, it said.
They also stressed the need for building a relationship between academia and industry to promote this department.
DU Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department Chairperson Professor Lafifa Jamal and some other lecturers of the department were present on this occasion, the release said.
