South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun on Sunday met with Major General Md Nazrul Islam, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and discussed issues related to investment and export.
KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) Representative Dong Hyon Kim was also present during the meeting.
Korean companies have greatly contributed to the development of Bangladesh’s RMG industry since the 1970s and Korea is one of the top investors to EPZs with 70 Korean companies in operation, more than 60,000 Bangladeshi employees in the zone, and cumulative investment volume of around $900 million, said the Korean Embassy in Dhaka.
