The ‘Korean Alphabet Day’ was celebrated at the Institute of Modern Languages (IML) of Dhaka University (DU) with different programs.
Two separate competitions titled ‘Korean language speech’ and ‘Korean language hand-writing’ were arranged on Tuesday for the students of Korean Language Department of DU IML marking the day, said a press release.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman was present as the chief guest on this occasion while Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Ms Young Ah Doh attended as special guest, with Director of DU IML Dr ABM Razaul Karim Fakir in the chair.
A friendly relation has been prevailing between Bangladesh and South Korea for a long time. said Akhtaruzzaman while addressing the program. South Korea has been providing help and cooperation to various sectors including education, trade and cultural fields in Bangladesh, he added.
The Vice Chancellor urged the students to be equipped with Korean language
to further strengthen friendly ties between the two countries.
Teachers, students and officials of Korean Language department of IML were
also present on this occasion.
