The Korea Cup Taekwondo championship concluded on Saturday at National Sports Council gymnasium in the city.
In senior men’s section fight category, Bangladesh Army won 15 medals including nine gold and six silver medals to emerge champions while Border Guard Bangladesh finished runners-up with 12 medals featuring four gold medals and five silver on the last day of the competition.
In the senior women’s section, Raujan Taekwondo Association emerged champions with 10 medals while Bangladesh Army finished runners-up with seven medals.
In the junior men’s section, Sirajganj district sports association emerged champions with six medals while Chattrogram district sports association finished runners-up with four medals.
In the junior women’s section, Chattrogram district sports association emerged champions with six medals while Sirajganj district sports association finished runners-up with six medals.
Meanwhile in the pumse category, Adamji Cantonment Public School and College emerged champions.
Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim MP was the chief guest in the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes.
Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Hu Kang-il was present there as the special guest.
Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF) president Morshed Hossain Kamal and BTF general secretary Mahmudul Islam Rana presided over the closing ceremony.
A total of 600 taekwondo players from twelve district sports associations, different services teams, schools, colleges and universities from across the country took part in the meet.
