The Korea Cup Taekwondo began on Friday at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium here, said a Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation press release.
Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza formally inaugurated the three-day meet as the chief guest. Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Ahn Seong-doo was present as the special guest.
Some 800 taekwondo players from different districts, associations, universities, colleges, schools, boards and corporations from across the country will take part in the meet, organized by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will present as the chief guest at first phase closing day and distribute the prizes.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will be the chief guest in the second phase of the closing ceremony on November 5.
