In 2014, she attached with media through a reality show in 2014. After becoming first runner-up in the reality show she started work in showbiz as a model. Later she also started acting. Due to personal reason, she was detached from media last few years. Now she wants to be regular in acting. Her name is Farjana Yesmin Koly but in media she is known by Samira Khan Mahi. Farjana Yesmin Koly is her certificate name. In 2014, Koly became first runner-up in reality show ‘Rong RTV 20-20 Colours Model Hunt.’ As a result, Koly performed as model in photo shoot of different brands like Ecstasy, GP, Textmart, Pride Girls, Banglalink, Sailors, etc.
Koly first acted in Imraul Rafat’s serial Torun Turki. Later she acted in same director’s Paribarik Golojog, Mohon Khan’s serial Neer Khonjey Gungchil, BU Shuvo’s serial Life In a Metro, Shuvrar Wardrobe, Niloy Alamgir’s Akash Bariye Dao, Matching Brother, Ferdous Hasan Rana’s serial Ek Pa Du’Pa, four plays for website channel. She also acted in Sakhawat Manik’s short film Bhalobashar Boishakh where her acting was appreciated.
Koly first performed as model in a music video of US expatriate singer Tanveer Shahin. Later she also performed in Pulock and Shirin Chowdhury’s song Tumi Je Aamar.
This year she performed as a ramp model in ‘Bangladesh Fashion Week.’ She lastly performed as a model in TVC of Aarong Ghee. She said, “Due to my personal reason I was outside from media. Now I have become regular in acting. I want to establish myself as an actress. Therefore, I want to continue my study besides these. I am also studying LLB at Leading University in Sylhet.”
