Koko laid to rest

The body of Arafat Rahman Koko, younger son of late president Ziaur Rhaman and former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, has been buried at Banani Graveyard in the capital on Tuesday evening. The body was buried at the Graveyard after offering the second namaj-e-janaza of Arafat Rahman Koko that was held in front of the national mosque Baitul Mukarram in the city. Thousands of people from all walks of life and scores of BNP leaders and activists attended his namaz-e-janaza and his burying programme. The namaj-e-janaza was held around 5:10pm on the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Prof Maulana Salahuddin Ahmed conducted the janaza. Earlier in the day, a Malaysia Airlines flight carrying the body left Malaysia at 9:40am and arrived here at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 11:30am. Koko, who had been living in Malaysia on parole, died of heart failure at Kuala Lumpur around 1:30pm Saturday. He complained of chest pain around noon and died at his rented house there. The first namaz-e-janaza of Khaleda Zia’s son was held at the National Mosque of Malaysia (Masjid Negara) on Sunday noon. –risingbd.com
