The KOICA Alumni Night-2016 was celebrated with enthusiasm of vibrant participants by KOICA alumni at a city hotel on Thursday night aiming to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations between Bangladesh and Korea.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Korea Bangladesh Alumni Association (KBAA) held its highly anticipated and long-awaited annual event of the year known as “KOICA Alumni Night 2016”.
State Minister of ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Chairman of National Board of Revenue Md Nojibur Rahman, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh Ahn Seong-doo, Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh Office Joe Hyun-Gue, President of KBAA and Chairman of Rupali Bank Limited Monzur Hossain, dignitaries and KBAA members, among others, attended the event.
Appreciating KOICA’s contribution to the different fields of development, Palak hoped the KOICA will extend its cooperation to supplement efforts of the government for building “Digital Bangladesh”.
Referring to the growing relationship between Korea and Bangladesh Ahn Seong-doo said, “How KBAA night is acting as platform to help maintain a close collaboration between the countries.”
He said KBAA members are the representatives of both Bangladesh and Korea helps to maintain the bilateral relationship for sharing knowledge.
KOICA has recognized Bangladesh as one of its most vital partners in the region and endeavors to increase exchanges in its priority sectors such as skill development, transportation, public health and ICT (Digital Bangladesh) for better collaboration between the two countries. Total members of the KBAA reached more than 2,000 till date.
The event featured Korea’s renowned K-Pop dance performance, a famous Bengali folk song sung by the KBAA members and a presentation on KOICA’s Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow Program titled “Multi-year Competency Enhancement of Diagnosis and Treatment of ASD for Child”.
A video presentation was also made at the event focusing on capturing
several capacity building fellowship programmes held in Korea.
