Knit sector incurs Tk.10,000cr loss in last one month

In response to the call of Bangladesh Chamber of commerce and industry (FBCCI) the businessmen of Narayanganj today formed a human chain for 15 minutes as part of countrywide programme in front of press club to protest the ongoing nationwide blockade and hartal since June 6.
The aprogramme was jointly organized by Bangladesh knit wear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI).
The progrmme was participated by seven national based trade organizations and 33 local trade organizations including BKMEA, NCCI, Bangladesh Yarn Merchants Association, Narayanganj district unit of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Association (PCA), Bangladesh Jute Association (BJA), Bangladesh Cloth Merchant’s Association, Bangladesh Salt Owner’s Association, Narayanganj District Bus and Truck Owner’s Association, Narayanganj District unit of Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity and Narayanganj Restaurant Owner’s Association carrying miniature national flags.
Acting President of Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry NCCI Manzural Haque presided.Vice-president of BKMEA G.M Faruk spoke on the occasion.
Manzural Haque said the knit sector incurred loss worth taka 10 thousand crore during the last one month due to hartal and blockade of BNP led 20-party alliance since January 6.
He demanded immediate withdrawl of Hartal and Blockade as they don’t want to make Bangladesh another Bosnia-Herze Gobina. The human chain started from 12 and continued till 12-15pm.
