UNB, Chittagong :
Malaysian aid ship Nautical Aliya carrying relief materials for Rohingyas will enter Bangladesh water territory on Monday afternoon.
The ship will anchor at the outer anchorage of Chittagong port near Kutubdia channel, port officials said.
The relief materials will be unloaded through
lighter vessels and later distributed among the affected people.
Earlier, the government did not allow the ship to dock at Teknaf mainly due to the port condition.
The Port of Teknaf is shallow, with a depth of only three metres, while a vessel needs a depth of at least eight metres to be able to sail unencumbered into the port, the Malaysian government acknowledged in a statement earlier.
