Set to score 200 runs to win, they reached the target with three balls in hands to the utmost frustration of the King X1 Punjab’s co-owner Preity Zinta, who dreamt of her team’s first ever trophy in the Indian Premier Cricket League (IPL).
It was Kolkata’s second triumph to equal Chennai Super Kings’s record with aim to surge ahead as told by the team owner Bolywood Actor Shahrukh Khan after the match. The Bolywood actor once wanted to sell his team out of frustration of his team’s repeated failure. After Gambhir was appointed captain of the team, there came radical changes, which the world of cricket noticed.
IPL is surely a galaxy of stars in cricket. The participating eight teams recruit leading cricketers from all over the world except those from Bangladesh and Pakistan. The lone exception is Sakib-al-Hasan, who proved his worthiness trying his best to display beautiful cricket.
