Kuwait Joint Relief Committee (KJRC) distributed food items, clothes among the poor, the flood affected and the river erosion victims with the assistance of Kuwait Waqf Public Foundation.
Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal inaugurated the distribution programme on Thursday held at the Shaheed Shakil Govt Primary School at Muksudpur union under Dohar Upazila in Dhaka district.
Food items were distributed among 1000 flood and erosion victims in Muksudpur union. Each family got 15 kgs of rice, three kgs of lentil, one litter of oil, 2 kgs of salt, 5 kgs of potatoes and other products. 1000 people also got saree and lungi each.
Earlier, the minister laid the foundation stone of a four-storied building of Al- Hanan Orphanage.
The dormitory is being constructed with the financial support of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity East.

Alamgir Hossain, Dohar Upazila Chairman, AKM Alamin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Dr Gazi Md Jahirul Islaim, Director General of KJRC, Bangladesh office, were present, among others.
KJRC also distributed relief materials among 600 flood victims of Monirampur upazila in Jessore district.
