Allegation arose against a Kishoreganj Land Acquisition Officer (LAO) that he had embezzled Tk 18.68 crore government money. He is now working as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-Revenue) in Bhola.
The Additional Divisional Commissioner
of Dhaka Mohammad Nurunnabi submitted an investigation report accusing of embezzling money with the help of District Accounts Office insiders and Sonali Bank’s officials. It is also alleged that about Tk 500 crore was looted by him as compensation of land acquisition which is still in untraceable state.
According to the investigation, 205 checks were issued to him that was not recorded in the ledger book. Using more 48 checks, he unofficially withdrew more than Tk eight crore with the help of district Accounts Officer Sirajul Islam, Auditor Jaman and Pion Dulal.
