A physician of Karimganj Health Complex in Kishoreganj, who was infected with coronavirus, was discharged from the hospital on Monday afternoon after his recovery from COVID-19.
Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Mujibur Rahman said Dr Arif Ahmed Jony was released from Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital around 2pm.
The physician tested positive for coronavirus
on April 13. He was taken to the isolation ward of Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital on April 15.
Dr Arif was discharged from the hospital after he tested negative for coronavirus twice while staying at the hospital.
Earlier, a former member of Itna Sadar union parishad, Abdur Rashid, recovered from the coronavirus as the first patient in the district.
A total of 179 people have so far diagnosed with COVID-19 in the district.
