Bangladesh Premier League champions and Federation Cup runners-up Bashundhara Kings will play against Chattogram Abahani Limited in their second and last match of Group B of the ongoing TVS 31st Federation Cup Football Tournament on Friday.
The match will kick-off at 3:30 pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
Both two teams-Bashundhara Kings and Chattogram Abahani Limited-have already reached the quarterfinals as all-losers Brothers Union Limited eliminated after conceding 0-2 goals defeat in their last group against Ctg Abahani.
Kings, which are eyeing on their first-ever title in the season’s curtain raiser soccer meet Federation Cup Football, started the campaign beating Brothers by 1-0 goal in their first group match.
With the feat, both Kings and Ctg Abahani have secured three points each. But the Chattogram based outfit reached the top slot of the three-team Group B due to better goal difference (+2).
In the day’s another important game of Group C, Saif Sporting Club will face Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at 6:15 pm to confirm the spot in the quarterfinal.
Both Saif SC and Sheikh Jamal have secured one point each while Rahmatganj MFS secured two points after playing two successive draws.
The giant killer Rahmatganj MFS, which kept their quarterfinal hope alive, played a goalless (0-0) draw with Saif SC in the first match and played 1-1 draw with Sheikh Jamal DC in the second.
The result of last Group C match between Saif SC and Sheikh Jamal DC will assure the quarterfinal berth of Rahmatganj MFS.
