UNB, Dhaka :
Police have managed to solve the mystery of Keraniganj Madrasa Student Abu Raihan’s killing, confirming that he was killed as he refused to engage in a homosexual relationship with the chef of the Madrasa.
Police recovered the slaughtered body of Abu Raihan, 10, a residential student of Tahfizul Nurani Hafezi Madrasa of East Aganagar under South Keraniganj police station in Dhaka district, from inside the kitchen of the Madrasa on Monday morning.
A case was filed with the police station accusing unidentified miscreants in connection with the incident.
Police detained several employees of the Madrasa, including Shah Alam, a chef, for interrogation on the same day.
In the face of interrogation, Shah Alam confessed that he slaughtered to death Raihan as he rejected his advances, said Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dhaka District Habibur Rahman.
Briefing reporters at DMP Media Centre, SP Habib said Shah Alam revealed that he took Raihan forcibly inside the kitchen when the minor student was going to bathroom at about 1:00 am on Sunday night/Monday morning.
As the chef proposed a homosexual relation with Raihan, he resisted. Failing to molest him, the cook slaughtered to death the ill-fated boy, the SP Dhaka added.
Police recovered the sharp weapon (Bothi), which was used in slaughtering Raihan as well as the bloody lungi of Shah Alam from the garbage behind the kitchen, he said.
