UNB, Benapole :
Police rescued a schoolgirl from Lohagara upazila of Chittagong on Tuesday night, three months after she was allegedly abducted by her private tutor from Benapole.
Police also arrested the tutor, Firoz Biswash, son of Khalek Biswash, a resident of Chakui village under Lohagara upazila of Narail, at that time.
Police said Firoz used to tutor the victim, a class IX student of Benapole High School, for long.
He picked up the girl on her way back home from school and took her to Chittagong three months ago.
Later, the victim’s father filed a case against Firoz with Benapole Port Police Station. Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in Lohagara upazila headquarters of Chittagong on Tuesday night, rescued the girl and arrested Firoz.
Officer-in-charge of the police station Apurba Hasan confirmed the incident. The arrestee was supposed to be produced before a court on Wednesday noon, added the OC.
