Kidnapped Pakundia school boy rescued

A school boy named Munna (14) in Pakundia of Kishoreganj was rescued by police within five hours of his abduction. Munna was rescued from an abandoned house in Thadakanda village in Pakundia upazila around 12 midnight on Saturday. However, no one involved in the abduction could be arrested.
The rescued schoolboy Munna son of Helal Uddin of Kurtala village in Pakundia upazila and a class seven student of Udita High School in Mirzapur of Kishoreganj. According to the police, Sajib and his friends from nearby Thadakanda had a quarrel with Vijay a few months ago.
As a result, Vijay’s younger brother Munna was on his way to his grandfather’s house in Tarakandi village and was picked up by a group of people including Sajib, Arif and Shakil in front of Baratia Dakhil Madrasa at around 6pm on Thursday (September 2) and taken away in a CNG.
Later, the kidnappers called Munnar’s brother Vijay from Shakil’s mobile number and demanded a ransom of Tk 50,000. Pakundia OC Sarowar Jahan said that Munnar’s mother Jotsna Akhter informed the Pakundia police about the incident on Friday afternoon and Police rushed to rescue the abductee.
