Kidnapped Gazipur child rescued in Jashore

The police rescued a three-year child, who was abducted from Gazipur for Tk 6 lakh as ransom, from Satmail area under Kotwali police station on Tuesday night.
The police also arrested the suspected abductor Arman Ali of Mollaht in Bagerhat district.
The rescued child is Maliha Akhter, daughter of Saudi expatriate Shahidul Islam of Barobari under Tangi police station in Gazipur district, said Apurba Hasan, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station.
The OC told Newsmen that tipped off the police arrested Arman Ali and rescued the child from a room near Satmail Bazar at around 9pm on Tuesday.
The child was handed over to her mother Nasima Akhter and the Gazipur police, the OC added.
Police said, Maliha was abducted from near her residence on February 4. then the abductors the demanded Tk 6 lakh to her guardians as a ransom over mobile phone. Selimuzzaman, uncle of the victim filed a general diary with the local police station in this connection. Tipped off, the Kotwali police conducted the drive and rescued the child along with the suspected kidnapper.
