One kidnap attempt was foiled in Chittagong city yesterday.
Police sources said, one kidnapper impersonating himself as RAB force tried to pick up one trader of Chittagong Chowmuhani bazaar but following the resistance of the local people the attempt was foiled. The agitated caught the so-called lawenforcer Arif Ahmed and handed over to police after mass beating. Police and local sources said, one microbus came in front of Chowmuhani Bazaar and tried to pick up the trader Golam Rabbani but local people chased them and Arif Ahmed was detained. The so-called law enforcer handed to police , sources said. After quizzing , he confessed that he is an ex-army man who retired from service in 2009. A kidnap case has been lodged with the concerned thana , sources said.
