In separate incidents, a child drowned in Sylhet districts on Monday.
An eight-year-old girl met her watery burial at Kharubil village in Jaintapur upazila in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Karima Begum, daughter of Jamat Miah of the village.
Locals said Karima fell into a pond around 4:30pm. Her floating body was found in the pond in the evening.
