Once upon a time, Sokal Ahmed was a journalist. Later he turned into director and earned appreciation from the viewers for his direction. Now he is full time play director. He has acceptance among the actors. Many performers show their keen interests to work under his direction. On the occasion of coming Eid, he has made five plays. These are: 11.11.11, Man Vs Wild, Gobhir Shunnotai, Andho Avai and Tomar Jonno Duishoto Kathbelly.
Brindaban Das, Shafiqur Rahman Shantanu, Sajin Ahmed Babu and Aronno Anwar wrote stories of these plays respectively.
He has already finished shooting of these five plays for Eid.
On August 17, Sokal Ahmed finished shooting of play 11.11.11. Fazlur Rahman Babu, Chanchal Chowdhury, Shahnaz Khushi and Kushum Shikder acted in this play which will be aired on Banglavision in Eid-ul-Azha.
Its shooting was done at Pubail in Gazipur on Thursday where Khushi and Kushum played the role of wife of Babu and Chanchal respectively.
While talking about the play Fazlur Rahman Babu told this correspondent, “Story of the play is nice and I have enjoyed a lot to work in the play. Therefore, the actors who acted in this play they worked cordially. As a result, it has become a nice work. Sokal always tries to bring out best performances from the actors. It also happened in this play. I hope viewers will enjoy the play in Eid.”
Chanchal Chowdhury said, “There must have message in Brindaban Das written plays. There is also message in this play. So viewers should watch this play to know its message. Therefore, he works in organized way. I am really optimistic about the play.”
Shahnaz Khushi shared her feelings by this way, “To give freedom to actor, Sokal Ahmed receives feedback of his work. Brindaban Das has written its story. So he wants to pursue a message among the viewers through this play. As a playwright, Brindaban Das tries to think something from his play. It is his success as a play director. We give thanks to all the actors to make a nice work by a proper team work.”
Kushum said, “I didn’t have any plan to act in any play this Eid. But I couldn’t skip Sokal Ahmed’s request to work in his Eid play. It has become a nice work. Chanchal Bhai is an examined actor. I always feel comfortable to work with him.”
Chanchal and Kushum first worked together in Ashutosh Sujon’s a play. Later they paired up several times. They last worked together in Sajjad Sumon’s serial Nonstop.
Meanwhile, director Sokal informed that her wife is expecting their first baby on October 17 so he tried to finish all of his works before Eid to give time to his wife.
