Legendary singer Khurshid Alam will get the Lifetime Achievement Award in this year’s Channel i Music Award. The award giving ceremony will be held on September 29 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the city’s Agargaon area.
Awards in sixteen categories concerning music will be given in this year’s festival. This will be the twelfth time the annual award will be delivered.
Apart from Khurshid Alam, Shammi Akhter will get the special mention award. Five other music composers and music directors will also get special honourary awards. They are Alauddin Ali, Alam Khan, Sheikh Sadi Khan, Azad Rahman and Ali Hossain. They will also sing at the award function.
Among the performers in this year’s award giving ceremony will be band singer James. James will perform in the award function for the first time. Momtaz, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Shafi Mondol will be among other performers of the event. Izaz Khan Swapan will give direction of the event.
