The month long 14th Khulna International Trade Fair-2015 (KITF) began yesterday (Saturday) evening at the Circuit House Maidan.
Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Chameli Traders, a business organization jointly organized the fair.
Advisor to the Prime Minister Moshiur Rahman addressed and inaugurated the fair by releasing balloons and cutting ribbon as chief guest.
Begum Monnuzan Sufian MP, president of city Awami League Talukder Abdul Khaleque MP, administrator of Khulna district council and president of Khulna district Awami League Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, Khulna divisional commissioner Md. Abdus Samad, chairman of KDA Brig. Gen. Md. Shamsul Alam Khan, managing director of Khulna Shipyard commodore Sayed Irshad Ahmed, KMP commissioner Nibas Chandra Maji, DIG of Khulna Range police S M Moniruzzaman, Khulna deputy commissioner Mostofa Kamal addressed the inaugural function as special guests.
President of KCCI Kazi Aminul Haque presided over the inaugural ceremony.
A total of 140 stalls and six pavilions have been set up on the fair premises by different business enterprises of home and abroad including India, China, and Pakistan, said KCCI vice-president Saiful Islam.
The fair will remain open from 10 am to 10pm every day.
