National Cricket League: Khulna Div trailing by 77 runs against Rangpur Jahid Javed hits century

Defending champions Khulna Division reduced their deficit to 77 runs against Rangpur Division in a Tier 1 match after the 3rd day of the four-day Walton 19th National Cricket League (NCL) at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Sunday.
Replying to Khulna Division’s first innings total of 218 runs, Rangpur Division opened the first innings on the 3rd day and declared the innings at 317 runs for 9 in 80.4 overs featuring a century by opener Jahid Javed, who made 115 runs off 217 balls hitting 14 fours and two sixes.
Lower order batsman-cum-wicketkeeper Dhiman Ghosh contributed a polished 69 off 68 balls with 12 hits to fence, another opener Saymon Ahmed scored 76-ball 32 runs with three fours and two sixes while Mahmudul Hasan made 16-ball 25 runs hitting five boundaries.
National coloured all rounder Ziaur Rahman grabbed three wickets for 29 runs while Mahedi Hasan and veteran spinner Abdur Razzak took two wickets each conceding 52 and 136 runs respectively.
Trailing by 99 runs in the first innings, Khulna Division opened the 2nd innings in the afternoon and scored 22 for no loss in 10 overs to trail by 77 runs with Mahedi Hasan and Rabiul Islam Robi were in batting with 14 and 7 runs respectively.
