Magnificent tons came from the bat of Mahadi Hasan and Tushar Imran saw Khulna Division dominated the first day as they piled up a huge total of 348 for 3 at stumps against Barisal Division in the second round tier first match of the 19th National Cricket League (NCL) held on Friday at Sheikh Abu Naser Cricket Stadium in Khulna.
Opted to bat first after winning the toss, Khulna Division lost their openers early but Mahadi and Tushar shared 272 runs third wicket stand to take the team’s total to a commanding position.
Tushar contributed 132 runs off 196 balls lased with 16 boundaries and one over boundary while Mahadi (165 n.o) was rather superb as he was remained with 165 runs off 261 balls that studded 15 boundaries and two over boundaries along with Mithun (8 n.o ) as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Tanvir Islam bagged two wickets each conceding 54 runs.
