BNP vice-chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka has been freed from Central Jail on Wednesday. The former Dhaka City mayor walked out of the jail around 5pm today. Earlier on Sunday, Khoka secured six-month bail from the High Court in three cases including one for killing sub-inspector Md Shahjahan in May last year. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the BNP leader from a house in city’s Uttra area on December 4 last year. Khoka was shown arrested in a case filed for killing Shahjahan during the May 5 mayhem in Motijheel centring the Hefajat-e Islam rally. He was also shown arrested in the two other cases filed for attempting to murder cops by throwing cocktails, vandalising vehicles and preventing law enforcers from discharging their duties in the capital`s Jatrabari area in November and December.
