Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court yesterday (Thursday) framed charges against BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka in a case filed for concealing wealth informationDhaka’s Senior Special Judge Md Jahurul Haque framed the charges against the former undivided Dhaka city mayor and set Nov 16 to start the trial with recording the deposition of the witnesses even if he remains absence. He is reportedly in the United States for treatment.His lawyers informed the court of his absence while the court ordered to continue the trial proceedings in absentia. However, no arrest warrant was issued for the BNP leader.The Anti-Commission (ACC) filed the case in 2008 accusing Khoka of concealing wealth information worth Tk 96.5 million. The anti-graft watchdog submitted the charge sheet of the case on July 1 in 2008.ACC prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal told newsmen that the Appellate Division’s ruling barred issuing arrest warrants during the trial proceedings. That is why the present court did not issue warrant despite framing charge in absentia.
