Legendary Indian Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee met granddaughter of Bangladesh’s National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Khilkhil Kazi in the midday of Wednesday at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka. Khilkhil Kazi went there to bring Soumitra to Dhaka Club to attend the Kazi Sabyasachi Memorial Award giving ceremony. From there he went to the National Museum to receive the award. He received the award from Uma Kazi, wife of Kazi Sabyasachi, yesterday evening.
While talking with Khilkhil Kazi on the hotel lobby Soumitra was looking delightful.
After reaching the hotel Soumitra was searching her firstly. He was very much impressed to talk with the granddaughter of Kazi Nazrul Islam, Khilkhil.
While sharing his feelings in this regard Soumitra told this correspondent, “I am really impressed for your hospitality. I have been enjoying this time visit in Dhaka. For the first time, I have received the award. I give thanks to Khilkhil Kazi to honour me by giving the award.”
From Bangladesh Kazi Arif also got the award along with Soumitra Chatterjee. Elder child of Kazi Sabyasachi, Khilkhil Kazi said, “From now every year this award will be given.”
