Khastagir Govt School tops 4th times in JSC exam merit list

Khastagir Govt Girls school topped the list of the successful schools in the Junior School Certificate Examinations-2014 under Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chittagong this year.
The school repeated the result for the fourth consecutive time this year in the JSC Examinations from the Board.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chittagong has attained 84.29 percent pass in the JSC examinations which is 1.84 percent lower than the result of the last year.
The board authority announced the results at a press conference at its conference hall here this noon with Board controller Dr Pijush Dutt in the chair.
With her voice swelling with pride, Headmistress of Khastagir Govt Girls School Hasmat Jahan said, ” A total of 304 students out of 318 achieved GPA-5 from our school for the second consecutive year.”
Terming it a great success, she gave the credit to the teachers and guardians for providing proper guidance to the students in achieving such a feat.
The board saw 150,617 students appearing from 1122 institutions under 199 centers in the exam this year. While a total of one lakh 26 thousand students passed from Chittagong Education Board this year.
The number of GPA-5 achievers this year is 10486.
The top ten schools under the education board were awarded points taking into account several factors including the number of GPA-5 achievers and the pass rate and then put in the list of top 20 institutions.
The top 10 schools are, Dr Khastagir Government Girls’ High School, Chittagong Collegiate School Bangladesh Mohila Samiti Girls’ High School, Chittagong Government Muslim High School, Silver Bells Girls’ High School, Ispahani Public school and College, Chittagong Public School and College, Faujderhat Cadet College, Cantonment English School and Chittagong Government High School.
Among the districts, the pass rate was 86.20 percent for Cox’s Bazar, 83.06 for Rangamati, 80.29 for Khagrachari and 74.33 for the Bandarbans.
