Sports Reporter :Khanjanpur High School of Joypurhat emerged the champions of the First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey Competition when they beat Armanitola Government High School of Dhaka by 2-1 goals in the final at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Monday.The first half of the match ended in a 1-1 draw.Shihab Hossain of Armanitola Government High School put his team ahead in the 9th minute of the play.Fahim Faisal of Khanjanpur High School equalised the margin in the 44th minute of the game.After the intermission, Manik Uddin Fakir of Khanjanpur High School scored the match-decider in the 44th minute of the match.Khanjanpur High School of Joypurhat were awarded Tk 3,00,000 while Armanitola Government High School of Dhaka, the runners-up of the meet were given Tk 2,00,000 and JM Shen High School of Chittagong, the third place achiever team got Tk 1,00,000 as prize-money. Those prizes were provided by the sponsor First Security Islami Bank Limited.Shihab Hossain of Armanitola Government High School, the highest scorer of the tournament was awarded Tk 1,00,000 while Arman of the same school was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament and was given Tk 50,000.Those prizes were given on behalf of Chairman of ATN Bangla Dr Mahfuzur Rahman.After the final match Sports Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari, Managing Director of First Security Islami Bank Limited Syed Wasek Md Ali, Senior Vice-President of First Security Islami Bank Limited Tashik Ahmed, Head of Marketing of the Bank Azam Khan, General Secretary of BHF Khaja Rahmatullah, Chairman of ATN Bangla Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, Secretary of the School Hockey Tournament Committee ANM Mamunur Rashid and member of the Federation Rafiqul Islam Kamal were present at the time.
