Doctors of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Wednesday said that the health information of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia would not be made public.
“Health condition of Begum Khaleda Zia is solely a private matter. We cannot disclose information of her health condition,”said BSMMU Additional Director Nazmul Karim after the members of the medical board formed for Khaleda Zia’s treatment met her in the cabin block of the hospital afternoon.
Nazmul Karim said, “Khaleda Zia’s medical treatment began as the medical board examined her today (Wednesday) for about an hour.”
Physicians said that the BNP chief cooperated them during the health check-up.
Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun was with the medical board.
Earlier on Monday, the medical board said that it would take two weeks to begin Khaleda’s treatment.
The medical board said on Monday that prolonged rheumatoid arthritis caused deformities on her left hand and froze her left shoulder.
Ailing Khaleda Zia was shifted to the hospital on Saturday from the Old Dhaka Central Jail where she landed on February 8 in a graft case.
