Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s health condition had remained stable and unchanged from the date of imprisonment. “The BNP Chief Khaleda Zia’s health condition has not deteriorated since she landed in jail. The civil surgeon has already visited Begum Zia in jail. He has said that her health condition is the same as it was when she landed in prison,” the minister said this while visiting Abdullahpur-Bypail highway at Savar’s Jirabo area.
“A medical board will be formed and if it recommends she will be sent abroad. The government would do everything for the proper treatment of Khaleza Zia as per doctors’ advice,” he said.
The AL General Secretary also said BNP was not speaking the truth about the health condition of the party chairperson.
“The BNP leaders are simply resorting to falsehood,” he said. During the visit, Quader assured that the work on Dhaka-Tangail highway will be completed before the Eid-ul-Fitr of this year.
Local MP Enamur Rahman, Jubo League Organising Secretary Faruque Hasan and AL Savar upazila Organising Secretary Dewan Mehedi Hasan Manju, among others, were present on the occasion.
