The High Court will hear on Sunday a bail petition filed by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in a case filed in Cumilla over the February 3, 2015 arson attack.
An HC bench of Justice Md Shawkat Hossain and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman set the date on Thursday.
Earlier on Tuesday, Khaleda filed the bail petition with the High Court through her lawyers in the case filed under the Special Powers Act.
On February 3, 2015, eight people were killed in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chouddagram upazila of Cumilla district during a movement enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
After the incident, three cases – one for killing, one under the Explosive Substances Act and the other under the Special Powers Act – were filed with Chouddagram Police Station against Khaleda Zia and several top BNP leaders.
