BSS, Dhaka :
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Friday alleged that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has violated the electoral code of conduct by participating in a campaign on behalf of her party backed candidates in the city corporation polls.
“Begum Khaleda Zia is campaigning for her party candidate under police protocol, which is a violation of the election code of conduct as she is doing this taking government facilities,” he said.
Tofail Ahmed, also a member of the Awami League’s advisory council, made this allegation against the BNP chief while replying to a query from a journalist after placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujiubur Rahman at 32, Dhanmondi marking the historic Mujibnagar Day here.
